The organic market offered local produce and other products from Herbana Farms and KAKASA Organic Farmers Organization from University of the Philippines Los Baños. Other local producers — Luvs Herbal Coffee & Tea, Garage Kitchen, Dielle’s Apiary, Dave’s Frozen Premium Yogurt — were also there.

LeBistroVert’s Chef Sau del Rosario was the opening salvo in the line-up of mini workshops last Sunday. He inspired weekenders to buy local and choose organic via cooking demonstration of healthy recipes.

According to event organizer Karina Garcia-Reyes (+63917 559 1333), NUVALI Green Weekend is just one way of celebrating the earth’s blessings and encouraging social awareness. “This event will not just be something to earn money from. Not only will it promote eco-friendliness, it will also bring communities together. The weekend fair is a place for people to express themselves and share each other’s recipes, unique creations and products. It’s where people can be more than just neighbors. ”

The NUVALI Green Weekend is an organic and artisan community fair that will be held every 3rd weekend of the month starting March 2010. This project is part of Ayala Land Inc.’s goal to redefine urban living by advocating modern lifestyle in a sustainable eco-community through the NUVALI development in Laguna.

NUVALI is the grandest and largest project of Ayala Land to-date. With 1,600 hectares Nuvali is envisioned to be the country’s next urban center south of Makati. Solenad is the retail center in Nuvali. It is the newest and “hottest” place for families to go to, especially on weekends. It’s main attractions are the Koi fish feeding, boating, mountain biking. NUVALI is designed to strongly support the environment and all forms of healthy living. For this reason, Ayala calls Nuvali an eco-community where it takes into consideration the welfare of the environment while seamlessly integrating family, work, and leisure. It also takes very seriously its social responsibility to the many communities surrounding the areas by setting up livelihood programs to help support families in need.
