It all started when Chit Juan asked her long-time friends Jeannie Javelosa and Reena Francisco to help out with her coffee shop in Serendra, Kape Isla.

The initial idea was to add products complimentary to what she already had from her travels as a pioneer in the industry of Philippine coffee. They started filling up their “green wall” by inviting local producers who were selling in weekend markets to consign their products with them.

Eventually, ECHOstore Sustainable Lifestyle was formally launched in 2008.

After running the business for two years, accidental green entrepreneurs Chit, Jeannie and Reena believe that ECHOstore must continue to be what it is, a social enterprise.

By being a distribution channel of locally-made green products from organized communities they partner with, ECHOstore plays a vital role in bridging the gap between consumers and producers.

To celebrate their 2nd year anniversary, ECHOstore launched recently their Green Home, Clean Home Campaign. The campaign aims to increase the awareness of the use of eco-friendly products at home. The newest cleaning product line called ECHOstore Home Basics is a collection of home cleaning solutions formulated with natural cleaning ingredients that effectively eliminates germs and bacteria. Each product is designed to make the toughest household chores a breeze – from dishwashing to disinfecting surfaces, to laundry while keeping your home clean and green. Unlike most commercially produced household products, ECHOstore Home Basics products are free from harsh chemicals, bleaches or toxins.

The travel-size Anti-Bacterial Surface Cleaner claims to effectively clean and sanitize any surface. It was formulated with babies in mind so you can use for your nursery and other areas used by young children. You may also use it for general disinfecting chores at home and in the office. The bottom of a woman’s bag is one of the dirtiest thing on earth so throw this handy cleaner in your bag for quick clean ups and “emergencies”.

Other ECHOstore Home Basics products are dishwashing liquid, fruit and veggie washes, liquid laundry detergent, and room and linen sprays. The best part of the campaign is that your purchase of any Home Basics products supports the ECHOstore Hope Fund.

ECHO is the acronym for Environment & Community Hope Organization STORE. Their flagship store is located in Serendra and other outlets are located in Loyola Heights in Quezon City, and Podium.
